In 1974 I was adopted as a grandson by Juan Pena (of the San Juan Pueblo), the keeper of an ancient Shamanic lineage passed from generation to generation over the last 22,000 years. During the next 8 years I went through rigorous training and practice in my apprenticeship to become the caretaker of this powerful Shamanic lineage.
When my Grampa Pena died in 1982, at 104 years of age, I became the keeper of the Ways for the duration of my life.
